Axl Hazarika is one of the pioneers of Industrial/Avant-garde music in India and the first Industrial/Avant-garde artist from northeast India. He is the first Indian Independent artist to get launched on VEVO. A musician, songwriter, programmer, sound designer, lyricist and producer, he hails from the beautiful city of Guwahati, Assam, India.

Axl Hazarika released his first album Elektrokore in 2008, which comprised the first Assamese metal song ever – Joi Aai Axom.

Axl Hazarika rose to fame with the release of his first global hit animation film Hum Badal Gaye in February 2012. He topped the YouTube India music charts and became the highest viewed and subscribed artist from Northeast India.

VEVO launched him on June 24, 2013 with the release of his animated music video of Hum Badal Gaye. The video amassed over a million views within a month of release and received great response from people all over the world.

He is the first to compose and release metal songs in his regional language – Assamese. The song Joi Aai Axom is a voice against terrorism that has prevailed in Assam. Matribhoomi, another single was released following the 2008 Assam bombings, in dedication to those who lost their lives. Jai Shiv Shankara and Maha Kali are a fusion of Sanskrit shlokas, metal and electronic music. B-Deshi was composed as a protest against the illegal immigrants in Assam.

Apart from Industrial/Avant-garde, Axl also makes rock songs, electronic, new-age and psychedelic music. His first global hit rock song Hum Badal Gaye made records of highest played song from northeast India on YouTube and the highest downloaded on digital stores.
